Nightlife Awards
That inveterate booster of cabaret talent, Scott Siegel, launched this award three years ago, and, like his popular ( Broadway By the Year series, it's become one of Town Hall's hottest tickets. What distinguishes the awards ceremony is that it has all the starry talent to be found at other awards ceremonies (and then some) but not a single boring acceptance speech thanking producers, directors and relatives. Instead, a cornucopia of stellar presenters make the introductions and the people being honored then show off a sample of what earned them their award. There's more presenting and performing talent on stage than you can count, it all adds up to a year's worth of cabaret entertainment dished The 2006 award winners, voted on by 27 critics and experts, with Feb. 6th the night when all of the winners are invited to perform at Town Hall.
