Introducing Our First Report from North of the 49th Parallel
Toronto is recognized as the third-largest theatre centre in the
English-speaking world, after New York and London. Canada's largest
city with more than 4.2 million residents in its greater metropolitan area,
Toronto is within a day's drive of more than half of the population of the
U.S.
and, like the rest of Canada, has a favourable exchange rate
with the U.S. Dollar!
There are now over 200 professional theatre and dance companies, including
non-profit and commercial theatres This added up to over 10,000 live performances
last year.
Toronto also boasts two internationally recognized major summer festivals:
The Stratford Festival and the Shaw Festival.
Toronto Report will also pass along other items likely to be interesting,
amusing or helpful.
Toronto Reports Mission Statement

following categories:
- Significant new plays that have not been reviewed in New York
